We understand that weight gain can happen by accident, don’t worry we have experienced it with our own pets too.

Given how impactful obesity can be on a pet’s health we aim to provide advice and practical tips to help you help your pet lose weight (and keep it off).

While this may be addressed in standard health check appointments, we also provide dedicated weight loss consultations. In these, we will go over what a normal body condition looks like, where you pet is at and develop a plan moving forward to get them to their goal weight.

If you have one of those pets that “never feels full” or inhales their food super quickly, here are some handy hints

·         Feed with enrichment – like a kong, snuffle mat or puzzle ball

·         Frozen treats

·         Add in vegetables

·         Uses their food as part training

·         Provide other types of enrichment to ensure proper mental stimulation and prevent boredom eating

Don’t forget our feline friends! Many cats are overweight with the impression that they can’t be exercised. Provide them with play time and be careful with their diet to ensure they stay lean and fit too.
