Dr Emily
Dr Emily has been a part of Mount Hutton Pet Hospital since it opened in 1994.
She has always wanted to be a veterinarian (not surprising considering her parents opened MHPH in 1994) and graduated from the University of Sydney in 2017. She has been working at MHPH for the last 8 years and in 2023 she became a proud owner.
Her focus has always been on companion animals (dogs, cats and pocket pets), with a recent interest in brachycephalics and performing the complex brachycephalic airway surgery. She also loves spending time with the clients and their pets, forming that special relationship and seeing them grow through the years. She is also a certified peaceful euthanasia veterinarian and is hoping to utilise this more in the clinic environment, to create those last wonderful moments between you and your pet.
Her current fur-family includes Bentley the Dingo, Duke the staffy and Bambi the domestic short hair. Her husband Justin is also a regular at the clinic, being a wonderful handyman and bringing ideas to life.
While not at work Emily enjoys spending time with her husband and her pets, baking delicious treats (especially sourdough!), reading and watching whatever TV series tickles her fancy at the time.
Dr Emily is very excited to meet you and your pets, give them lots of love and attention and, a sneaky treat or two!
As an owner, her focus is making MHPH the best clinic in Newcastle. With a focus on creating the wonderful client experience, where coming to the vet isn’t stressful – it’s like visiting family. Where your pets are excited to come in for a cuddle, even if they don’t feel well. It’s having that amazing team to make coming to work fun, fulfilling and enjoyable.
