
Boarding Policies

Mount Hutton Pet Hospital has a very busy daily schedule and we would like to be able to provide you with our undivided attention when you beloved family member arrives, therefore we have scheduled boarding arrivals and discharges to happen between the hours of:
Weekday (Monday to Friday) Boarding arrival and pick up times between: 11am to 1pm and 3pm to 5pm
Weekend (Saturday to Sunday) Boarding arrival and pick up times between: 11am to 2:30pm
If for any reason these times are not applicable to you, please email or contact the Hospital direct to set up an appointment time for dropping off or collecting from our boarding facility.
At Mount Hutton Pet Hospital we want your pets stay to be as comfortable and enjoyable as possible but also reduce the risk of transferrable diseases so there are specific regulations Mount Hutton Pet Hospital would like to maintain and for this reason require all boarders coming into the boarding facility to follow. The requirements are:
Vaccinations.
All pets boarding on our premises MUST be vaccinated against the following in the last 12 months. Puppies and Kittens must have their 3 vaccine boosters to build up their immunity to the viruses.
Vaccination certificates for the previous two years must be sighted before admission to be accepted into the boarding facility.
Dog Vaccination Schedule:
The C5 vaccination is the standard vaccination given at Mt Hutton Pet Hospital.
The diseases covered included are: Canine Distemper, Canine Hepatitis, Canine Parvovirus, Parainfluenza and Bordetella (Both strains of Canine Cough). A Dogs Vaccination Schedule should be as follows:
6-8 Weeks of Age – C3 Vaccination
10-12 Weeks of Age – C5 Vaccination
14 – 16 Weeks of Age – C5 Vaccination
Every 12 Months After That – C5 Vaccination Booster
Cat Vaccination Schedule:
The F3 vaccination is the standard vaccination given at Mt Hutton Pet Hospital. The diseases covered included are: Feline Enteritis, Feline Rhinotracheitis and Feline Calicivirus.
A Cat’s vaccination Schedule should be as follows:
6-8 Weeks of Age – F3 Vaccination
10-12 Weeks of Age – F3 Vaccination
14-16 Weeks of Age – F3 Vaccination
Every 12 Months After That – F3 Vaccination Booster
If a boarder is overdue when making a booking the boarder must be immunised and a booster given in 4 week’s time before the boarder is allowed to stay.
Flea treatment.
All boarders will be given a 24 hour oral flea treatment which kills any adult fleas on the boarder on admission & discharge. This is mandatory to keep the boarding kennel environment flea. This fast acting flea treatment is safe to be used with all other flea & tick treatments and any other medical treatments your pet may be having. It will be given regardless of what your pet is already having as a flea treatment.
